Amy Haacker
Managing Director
Amy brings to EAC a strong commitment to place-based philanthropy, with more than 20 years of experience in philanthropy, community development, and nonprofit management. She has a proven track record of guiding community foundations of all sizes to strengthen their governance, increase operational efficiency, and expand impact.
Most recently, Amy served as vice president of community foundation programs at Indiana Philanthropy Alliance, where she directed the statewide Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT) initiative funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. In this role, she oversaw training, organizational development, and peer learning opportunities for Indiana’s 94 community foundations.
Prior to that, Amy was executive director of Blue River Community Foundation in Shelbyville, Indiana. There, she forged cross-sector partnerships, nearly doubled the foundation’s assets, and led the organization through a strategic shift to a community leadership framework. Her earlier career includes roles in environmental science and rural development, reinforcing her deep commitment to collaborative problem-solving.
Amy is recognized for her ability to design and implement strategic initiatives that strengthen organizations and communities. She excels at building consensus, aligning stakeholders, and equipping boards and staff with the tools they need to achieve long-term success.
Amy holds degrees from Purdue University in agriculture/natural resources and environmental science, and a master’s degree from Duke University School of the Environment. She also holds the Certificate of Fundraising Management from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive. In addition to local volunteer boards and committees, Amy serves as advisor on the C.S Mott Foundation Chair on Community Foundations Advisory Committee, and the Indiana Non-Profits Advisory Board with the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.
